On Thurs 19 November, Cuculi presents an evening with Cornish folk songwriter Anna Anise at The Greenbank, plus support from Old Moll.

Blending melodic hooks, rich vocals, and full-bodied guitar tunings, her debut bilingual album Aneth seamlessly weaves together English and Cornish (Kernewek). On this very special night, Anna will be joined on stage by her band of exceptional Cornish musicians, Lizzie Pridemore, Millie Young and Issy Meltzer who bring soaring string arrangements and close harmonies to the uplifting arrangements of her debut bilingual album.

The album follows a successful crowdfunding campaign supporting this collection of songs that showcases both the Cornish language and some of the region’s most exceptional musicians. This album has been made possible by the creative support of translator Elizabeth Ellis, musical director Daniel Woodfield and producer Sam Jones, alongside many others working at the forefront of Cornish arts and music.

Named after a legendary witch from Dartmoor, Bristol-based artist Old Moll catches stories and folklore that fell through the cracks in history.
