Tara Lily + Zena Ahmed at The Jam Jar
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Tara Lily crafts a rich, soulful sound palette that weaves together R&B, trip-hop, jazz and electronica with Indian classical arrangements. You really gotta catch the Virgil Abloh and King Krule-approved artist’s truly dreamy and enthralling sonic concoction if you’re into: Nilufer Yanya, SAULT, Hope Tala."

TARA LILY
Growing up in South London within a British-Bengali household, Tara Lily developed a singular perspective on music and global culture. Immersed in the vibrant sounds of her multicultural surroundings, she absorbed everything from jazz and electronica to alternative R&B and classical Indian soundscapes.

This rich tapestry of influences, paired with her deep musical insight, forms the foundation of a sound that is entirely her own.

It’s this genre-defying blend—and her authentic understanding of the cultural worlds behind it—that has drawn the attention of tastemakers and icons alike, including Virgil Abloh, Gilles Peterson, Iggy Pop, Jamie Cullum, and Motown Records UK, who signed Tara as their first British artist. Her music refuses to be boxed in; she is, in every sense, a musical anomaly.

Reviews
- “Amazing voice, excited to see what she does next” – Virgil Abloh
- “Authenticity personified!” – Ezra Collective (Femi Koleoso)
- “Tara makes something glow in the darkness” – King Krule
