2018 was a busy year for London band Average Sex – Starting off with shows in Paris and Amsterdam supporting The Charlatans, then in to the studio with Tim Burgess and James Spencer (New Order, The Cribs, The Charlatans) to record the follow up to their debut EP, ‘Ice Cream‘.
‘Melodie‘ was released in August on O Genesis Recordings and their summer was spent in a van going up and down the country playing gigs and festivals including a sold out EP launch at, The Old Blue Last.
How did they catch Tim’s ear? Well, after being sent a link to the band’s work from drummer Finnigan Kidd, Burgess just couldn’t get enough. “They have the pop sensibilities and the hooks and melodies that never leave your head”, he says.
