"Free entry! Montreal post-punk outfit distraction4ever’s magnetic sound spins into deep space in a wash of eroding synths, chilly guitar lines, and drum-machine pulse. An underground essential FFO: The Cure, Joy Division, Interpol, The Horrors, King Krule, nocturnality. "

A
gig
held at The Lanes
on Friday 20th June. The event starts at 19:30.
Energetic, captivating, and occasionally tumultuous – distraction4ever is the latest band in town. The Montreal-based blends diverse post-punk influences with broken amplifiers, analog synthesizers, rapid drum machines, textural explorations and distorted vocals, leaving the audience simultaneously nostalgic, inspired and ready for another glass of wine.
With a vision derived of anemoiac-nostalgia for vintage audio equipment, cult-films, sci-fi soundtracks, and photographs from before their time, Fusea’s textural, sonically intense live sets are built layer by layer upon a web of midi-synced 80s drum machines and synthesisers.
Fusea began as a solo project in 2017, evolving into a duo prior to their first gig and the release of the single 'Lights' in 2018. Now performing live as a three-piece, their latest EP 'Adrift' develops more upon the 80s Goth and Cold-Wave influences touched upon on their 2019 self-titled debut EP 'Fusea'. They've since gone on to support a handful of their heroes including Korine, Lust For Youth and topographies at venues across the UK.
