NICKY BLACKMARKET

Nicky Blackmarket (born Nicholas Andersson-Gylden) is a British Drum and Bass DJ and record producer. Nicky Blackmarket is one of Drum and Bass' most well known DJs and is regarded as one of the pivotal figures in the early Jungle/Drum 'n' Bass scene. He has been playing Drum 'n' Bass all over the world for the past two decades.

Nicky started DJing in the 1980s when he was 14 and initially played electro before moving on to play all different types of dance music in house parties and on various pirate radio stations.

He is also famous for being part-owner of independent dance music record store Blackmarket Records store in Soho, Central London (now known as BM-Soho). In the early nineties, Nicky created a department within the store for the breakbeat scene which would evolve into Drum and Bass.

Nicky has sporadically produced tunes ("Spam EP" as Nick OD) however his main focus has been on playing tunes as a DJ all over the UK and the world.

ARIES

Reggae and Jungle are genres of music with strong roots in the UK, and Aries has immersed himself in both cultures which has heavily influenced his whole ethos to production and DJing. It's this integrity and dedication to the scene which has earned him respect amongst his peers meaning he now flies the flag internationally for modern day sound system culture.

Aries' sound combines vintage Jungle sensibilities with traditional Reggae music polished off with modern day production techniques. The finished product is his own Dubwise strain of the UK's one true homegrown genre, Jungle.

He broke through to the A-list of the Jungle world after releasing music on legendary record labels; Congo Natty, Dread and V Recordings, plus Aries has recorded with a whole world of vocal talent that does by no means stop at Top Cat, David Boomah, Solo Banton, Nanci & Phoebe, Demolition Man, Jah Mason and Johnny Osbourne. His DJing is in demand across the globe having played high profile DJ sets in most major Countries.

OCTO PI

Octo Pi's technical ability as a DJ is certainly something to behold. Blending together a selection of the very best of old and new on 3 decks with oodles of energy and finesse, he’ll tear off the roof of any venue he plays in. Previous events have seen him play alongside the likes of Andy C, Sub Focus, Friction, London Electricity, Chords, S.P.Y, Loadstar, Break, Calyx & Teebee, Frankee, TC, the list goes on. He’s also appeared on the synonymous D&BTV after winning the Drum & Bass Arena Competition for Remixing DJ Fresh’s chart-topper ‘Gold Dust’. 2016 is already shaping up to be another year of shifting up through the gears; he's already made some waves with the 'Break The Silence EP' released on Soul Deep Recordings accompanied by some outstanding remixes and a lot more releases on some very well respected labels just over the horizon. This is certainly one cephalopod to keep a very close eye one. Also having his release on Viper Pay Off alongside Liquifyah boss Modify Perspective, this guy is definitely mking moves.

MODIFY PERSPECTIVE

Modify Perspective’s DJ shows are always animated and full of energy, whether he's playing at prime time to a packed dance floor wanting it hard and heavy, or more intimate shows that require a more deep ambient Liquid vibe. He’s been described as being ‘up there with the very best of them’ and his technical ability to captivate a crowd is well respected by many of his peers. He always tailors his selection to what the crowd want to hear based on his experience playing out at nightclubs, gatherings and festivals across the UK and Europe. Highlights of 2014 included some very memorable performances at Liquifyah, Adaptive Bristol, Metalheadz Bristol, UKF Bristol, Winstons Amsterdam, Nozstock Festival, Tribe of Frog and Glastonbury Festival. You can expect a host of new material to drop over the coming months and plenty of DJ shows for your diary ahead of the first wave of long-awaited releases on the horizon.

CRUCIAL ATLANTIK

Formed in Bristol in 2011, Crucial Atlantik are a duo of selectors & mic men hailing from Bermuda and Wales. Tommy Tuff and Jonesy Wales play a wide selection of music from Soca, Dancehall, Roots Reggae to RnB and Soul, delivered in true sound system style, juggling and hosting the selections and delivering classics alongside new releases from the Caribbean and the UK.

GOODMAN B2B TRAFIC

These two learn't to mix together and are going to be closing the night with an exclusive vinyl set. A little bit different from Trafic being behind the mic he is going to do a one off DJ set with his long term friend and DJ mate Mr Goodman, oooo naughty.

The night will be hosted by cheeky chappys Twitchee and Y Dott expect some amazing bars and lyrical ability from these guys, they are bursting with energy at every opportunity they get.
