Hailing from the now bulldozed Copenhagen squat scene, Pardans are equal parts Spiritual-Jazz fuckery, D.C. hardcore and whatever might have become of Ric Ocasek’s take on late-70’s teenage optimism, when it inevitably fell into the cinematic lap of Ricki Lake-era John Waters.

Having met in a Copenhagen dole queue the week following their high school graduation, Jazz saxophonist Daniel Honoré, punk-drummer Oskar Dinesen and MIDI composer turned crooner, Gustav Berntsen, began Pardans by performing orchestral Goth-Punk, eventually finding an audience in Copenhagen’s DIY live-music scene.

The line-up was expanded to include apprentice sommelier, Rasmus Hastrup on bass, as well as, neo-classical double act, Patrick Rathbun and Rasmus Skovmose on viola and guitar. A deal with cult French label Third Coming soon followed, culminating in Pardans’ 2016 debut; Heaven, Treason, Women.

The band quickly found themselves on international tours with Iceage, sharing a headline show with Black Country New Road and performing critically acclaimed sets at festivals across Europe and the UK.

2018 saw the release of the irony-baked, carnival-themed sophomore album, Spit and Image; a project that by March 2020, would see the band descend into an indefinite, pandemic-plagued hiatus, as well as the eventual departure of members Rathbun and Skovmose.

Pardans returned in 2002 with sold-out shows at Copenhagen’s Mayhem and London’s Shacklewell Arms, where they debuted new songs from their upcoming 70’s Highway-Rock does Jazz-Punk inspired 3rd album, Peak Happiness.

Pardans will return to the UK in October to promote their latest singles, Warp Speed and Cringe City.

Warp Speed was release via Believe Denmark, on September 16th, 2022 to all digital platforms. It has since been played Danish national radio broadcaster, DR, as well as added to School in London and Ung Kniv Spotify playlists.

Cringe City will be available for download from October 26th.
