theskyisthinaspaperhere:

Delivering visceral, overwhelming live performances touched by a perpetual sense of longing for something lost which was never there. Using custom made, Kinect-controlled software, theskyisthinaspaperhere create sublime, overwhelming experiences through seemingly artificial, highly deterministic processes; a brooding melancholia haunted by the ghosts of archaic computer systems and obsolete programming languages.

Following a busy 2019 including live performances at Supernormal (Braziers Park), Dark Alchemy IV (St Thomas the Martyr Church, Bristol) and Threshold Festival (Liverpool), 2020 sees the release of The Dead Seasons, a full length album expanding on the EP previously released through German label Modern Bön.

“And we found ourselves, naked, in a safe space, listening to the mirrors and glass speak in spikes of sharp long whispers. Whilst our souls walked forward, slowly, on the air, above mountains, forever falling up, in an exponential epiphany towards the heavens… theskyisthinaspaperhere took us to paradise only to let us know that it had been abandoned far away long ago.”

Lessens:

Post-fun explorers of aural light and dark.

Born in Bristol in 2017 to an ethos of sonic and spiritual reductivism, Lessens are a three-piece that create brooding quiet with a side of despondency - accompanied by sporadic eruptions of accidental happiness.
