> (Worm Disco Club Wriggle King)
> Sat 10th Sept / 10:30pm-3am

Late Night Funk Club turns ONE!
And what a year it’s been…

From the Flannel-Mouth Funk of The Good, The Bad & The Funk - to the bonkers brass mayhem of New Car Smell - to the intergalactic space disco funk of Galaxians, we’ve covered all grounds from the deep, grounded classics to cosmic funk from worlds beyond!

And what better way to celebrate than by inviting back the very FIRST funk cats to grace the Late Night Funk Stage as part of our grand launch party waaay back in September 2021 - James Morton’s Groove Den!

Bristol's Ambassador for Music, Saxophonist James Morton’s musical CV is just incredible. He regularly performed with the funk godfathers - Fred Wesley & Pee Wee Ellis - who were the original composers and band leaders of James Brown's band, The JBs. When not performing with UK Hip Hop Icons, The Herbaliser, he tours his own bands and projects around the country.

His latest incarnation, James Morton's Groove Den, has him select some of the best musicians across the South-West and we can't wait to see who he pulls together for this show.

His unique lyrical and rhythmic sax playing style, which allows him to directly “speak” to his audience, conveys a strong sense of emotion that really connects with people and is what makes him such a special – and in demand – player.

Nathan Worm (Worm Disco Club)

It's a family affair as we bring in our LNFC host-extraordinaire back on the wheels of steel.

This guy has pretty much worked all the Late Night Funk Club events and knows exactly what’ll get you wrigglers wrigglin’ on the dancefloor!

A founding member of Worm Disco Club, Nathan is a serious music head with deep cross-genre knowledge; if you've listened to any of the Worm DJ mixes all over t'internet then most likely its Nathan who has compiled it. His 'E-Worm' shows on SWU.FM radio are garnering legendary status for their genre-hopping, groovy directions and we're super excited to return to the club!

Expect the punchiest, grooviest funk, soul, disco, latin and afro from across the globe from this charismatic crate-digger.
