OUR NAMELESS BOY • www.instagram.com/ournamelessboyuk

Inspired by the emotionally charged, quiet/loud and sometimes frenetic dynamics of the late ‘90s/‘00s US alternative/emo scene, Bristol based alt-rock band Our Nameless Boy bring their own brand of raucous energy to their performances, with songs that are hard hitting and subtle in their intricacies.

Whilst the album (‘Colour from the Doves’, 2021) provides a deeply personal account of a Iains’ battle with cancer, more recently Our Nameless Boy have set their sights more outwardly, attempting to make sense of the modern human condition through narratives intended to inspire empathy and self-reflection both in themselves and others.

WREX • www.instagram.com/wearewrex

Brighton-born duo WREX make electro-charged alternative rock to turbocharge heartbeats, snap necks and fill both dancefloors and moshpits. Shades of punk, nu-metal, pop and trance collide and coalesce but never clash; a wild explosion of riffs and synths that pulls from influences as diverse as While She Sleeps, Faithless and Linkin Park.

This is the WREX blueprint: a fierce, all-enveloping wall of sound with little time for music’s outdated boundaries or conventions; creativity, joy and emotion unbound. “WREX is about letting go,” George Donoghue says. “It’s a release from everything that’s going on in the world around you, a purge of everything you’re thinking and feeling.”

“Absolutely phenomenal live band if you get the chance to see them” - Melita Dennett (Radio Reverb / BBC Introducing Sussex & Surrey)

POLLYANNA BLUE • www.instagram.com/pollyanna.blue

Pollyanna Blue is as a juxtaposition of old and new music, harnessing the contrast of 90s and 00s alt rock rock, pop and grunge with modern tones, creating an exciting wall of sound that will feel strangely familiar, yet can only be defined to them.

Lyrically the fearlessness of self expression and narrating themes of mental health and navigating human complexity fits well with the origin of the band's name, which was influenced by the self help book ‘Feel The Fear and Do it Anyway’. These lyrics are backed by a vocal performance from Zoe, who brings a beautifully soulful yet aggressive power.
