Sounds of Soviet Underground at The Lanes

A gig held at The Lanes on Saturday 7th March. The event starts at 19:30.

A night dedicated to the Soviet-era underground music scene with songs of influential Red Wave bands performed live. The project explores how from illegal gatherings these bands have become national heroes, whilst capturing the hearts of the nonconformist Soviet generation. The music, presented by Soviet Underground, takes the listener on a historic music journey with covers of iconic and cult numbers by Kino, Zoopark, Alisa and many more.

Clive Batsch is the experimental-pop persona of Mason Le Long, an artist who has spent the last decade exploring the intersections of synth-pop, disco, and old film soundtracks to create his unique brand of ‘kitchen-sink-disco'. Described as “delightfully off-piste” by Clash and “a sprawling psych-pop gem” by Mystic Sons, Batsch remains a project defined by curiosity, craft, and a refusal to stand still.
