CHROMA + GÜRL at The Lanes
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"With their power offering of mega-catchy grunge-pop riffs and raw wailing vocals, pounding Pontypridd three-piece CHROMA might just be the most euphorically danceable feminist alt-rock band since The Gossip. Huge FFO: Biffy Clyro, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Le Tigre, Reuben, Sleater-Kinney."

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
CHROMA is an alt-rock band from Pontypridd, South Wales. The three-piece are hotly tipped by NME, Under The Radar Mag and PRS M Magazine as ones to watch.

In addition they've received enormous radio support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Kerrang! Radio, Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru with ongoing support from BBC Introducing.

They've played prestigious UK festivals such as Reading & Leeds Festival, BBC Radio 1’s Biggest Weekend, FOCUS Wales and Festival Number 6 along with appearances world-wide in New Zealand, USA, South Korea and in Europe at festivals such as SXSW (USA), DMZ Peace Train Festival (ROK), ESNS (NL), SUNS Europe (ITA).

The band previously made a notable appearance at Maida Vale Studios, recording a live session for BBC Radio Wales which later got picked up by Radio 1 and played on air.

Their debut album Ask For Angela released in 2023 via Alcopop! Records, packed with never-heard-before tracks that establishes the band’s rock roots and future direction. Ask For Angela was a long time coming for CHROMA, originally set for release in 2020 with the inevitable delay in release due to the band being unable to tour. All singles from Ask For Angela have received tremendous radio support, with 'Girls Talk' being playlisted on 6 Music's B List for several consecutive weeks.

They've played sold-out shows all over the UK with the likes of IDLES, The Mysterines, Peace and Tigercub, with a huge show supporting the Foo Fighters ahead of them in June 2024.
