CHINA BOWLS:

Delivering her staple mix of neo soul, jazz and hip hop influences. Bowls' playful use of acrobatic vocals weave in and out of her percussive guitar tones and combine with honest and insightful lyricism to tackle a range of subjects including grief, belonging and horrible bosses. Recently returned from a tour in Australia, this will be your first chance to hear new unreleased songs in an intimate solo performance.

Support comes from:

FRED FREDAS:

An astute and observant storyteller, his music harnesses the immediacy of grime with the undeniable sheen of modern hip hop. His masterful, poetic flow and hard-hitting lyrics, mixed with a clear love for soulful instrumentals; produces thought-provoking, endlessly playable music.

CHIEDU ORAKA:

Chiedu Oraka, is the sound of a new working-class Northern England. Raised in Hull on a diet of old school hip hop from Lauren Hill to Tupac, supplied by his older sister, the Hull native is cutting his own path. In a city often dominated by guitar music, Oraka offers a fresh alternative which has already attracted the attention of everyone from Vice and 1Xtra through to The Guardian and 6Music. With a DIY aesthetic and his own production team, the Yorkshire born artist has been cultivating and leading a hip hop revolution in his hometown whilst collaborating with other vibrant spirits in the city including punk band LIFE.

CHESQUA:

Chesqua is a Manchester based, vocalist with a vibrancy and enthusiasm for creating fresh songwriting, maintaining authenticity whilst striking a chord with to those familiar with the Tamla Motown days.

It was during a Brighter Sound Residency at Band on The Wall that Chesqua’s effortless talent was recognised. Members of Grammy award winning band, ‘Snarky Puppy’ selected her to collaborate in their artistic residency, culminating in a support slot for their appearance at Manchester Jazz Festival.

VITAL:

VITAL is a Music Artist Born and influenced by his Wolverhampton and Jamaican roots, he is a strong believer in family morals and expresses this through his music and home life which is documented through his social media.

Consistent support and radio play from the likes of BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and WM. His music had led to iTunes releases, and the opportunity to travel and live in Spain for 3 months, Cyprus for 2 months and America for 1.
