China Bowls
In his short career Icelandic artist Indriði Ingólfsson has experimented with a diverse spectrum of sounds. He’s guitarist in ReykjavÃk hardcore punk band Muck, and also part of experimental collective Sagitaria Raga. Outside of that, he’s contributed to a number of other art and music projects. What he’s created here is nothing like he’s done before. He will release his debut album ‘Makril‘ on 26 August. It’s a gorgeous listen, with the guitar tones and brass arrangements reminiscent of The National, and his low growl not a million miles away from that of Future Islands’ Samuel Herring. – Loud and Quiet
China Bowls
China Bowls' sound is a fusion of neo soul, blues and hip hop influences. She is a regular on the Bristollive scene and has also played across the country, from Bristol's Colston Hall to Glastonbury,Boomtown and Bestival.
She's a storyteller in her own right and delivers both extensive solo sets and dynamic full band performances. As Saffron Records' first signing, she presents her debut EP Talk, released earlier this
month. Weaving tales of life experiences, Talk unfolds into an artwork which evokes, comforts and uplifts.
Mesmerising vocals, cheekily infectious lyrics and elegantly arranged compositions, make her a luminous performer, captivating the audience with her insightful and poignant melodies.
