The Phoenix Foundation spewed forth in the heady days leading up to the Y2K global crisis, otherwise known as the late 90s. Over the years they have released four highly acclaimed albums, two EPs and composed the sound tracks for two highly iconic New Zealand feature films. They have achieved all of this without ever resorting to witch craft or skullduggery.
Buffalo, the most recent album, is nominated for 8'Tuis' at 2010s New Zealand music awards. Get it direct from the band on vinyl, mp3, ALAC or CD...get yourself a tea towel while your at it. The band's sound track for'Boy' won best soundtrack at the NZ Film Awards. The film itself is now the highest grossing NZ film at the NZ box office of all time. Crikey!
