Watching all this ooze, bump and grind out of MTV in 2006, Dutch student Torre Florim couldn 't help thinking it sure wasn 't like that in Nijmegen.
'It 's a parody on all those hip-hop songs I saw, about dancing in the club, seeing all those ladies hanging around you and you can choose whichever you want. ' He 's talking about the forthcoming debut UK single by his band De Staat a vivacious, party-popping garage rock tune called 'The Fantastic Journey Of The Underground Man '. 'The things I saw in that video were the opposite of what I was experiencing in Nijmegen. The NDRGRND is a small club in a basement where I used to go, and the fantastic journey is where you start out going 'yeah, I 'm gonna meet some ladies!
