gig
held at The Mount Without
on Thursday 19th December. The event starts at 19:30.
An unmissable event, Stillness in the Crypt will be a mind-shifting experience. Minimalist exploration curated for the crypt’s unique atmosphere, this is a sensory feast where sounds morphs into sensation; glorified in every sustained note that will break preconceptions of music.
The Keeling Curve | 19:30 - 20:00
Violin and modular synthesisers blend in “churchy minimalism” (thanks, Noel Gardner). Their music reflects an intimate dialogue with place, looping drones, field recordings, and echoing the environment. Blissed-out catharsis emerges from their new album Plaques Entangled.
Llŷr Adeline | 21:00 - 21:30
Bristol-based trans artist Llŷr uses her own crafted instrument, Izobel, to navigate sound outside conventional binaries. She plays with polychromatic temperaments and odd time signatures, reflecting on queer identity and life as an “other.” Expect a deeply personal journey through sonic oddities.
Pablo Jiménez-Moreno | 21:45 - 22:45
Debut album Stillness in which Movement takes place. A dematerialization of minimalism—Pablo bends soundscapes into architectural forms, built on a single note that evolves into layers, distortions, and ghostly echoes. Are you hearing the sound, or imagining it? Modular synths, analogue manipulation, and sound art stretch the very concept of stillness until it fractures.
