Alex Izaak Milling’s work, exemplified by his recent album All His Angels, foregrounds vocal multiplicity: layering, disjunction, and resonance are deployed to open spaces where devotional intensity and estrangement coincide. Theo Gowans (organiser of Territorial Gobbins nights and label) engages in an aesthetics offragmentation, repurposing sound through interruption, reconfiguration, and unruly juxtaposition. In performance, the duo enact a live negotiation between these practices, using improvised vocalisation as both material and method. The result is less a fixed composition than an unfolding ecology and experiment of the voice “ Modulated vocals of drones and groans, big, round- mouthed vowels, a kazoo here and a shaker there set the tone. They emit guttural chants, breathless gasps and full-throated roars before finding their way to auto tuned baby cooing “ - The Wire Edie Roberts ( Detroit ) + IGH band ———————————————————- https://www.instagram.com/squabtastic Edie Roberts is a genderqueer poet, performer and facilitator living in so called Detroit, MI. where they curate events and conversations while dreaming of fully-automated leisure utopias and the end of scarcity. They believe in self- publishing and making things for yourself; They lend hands and eyes and heart at Pitymilk Press and run a hapdash production site Bathmatics. Their writings have appeared and disappeared in such places as And So Yeah, Thunderclap Magazine, Anti-heroin Chic, DUETDUET, Ox Eye, Fine Print and others. They’ll be backed by an IGH house band to be announced ! Cement ————— noisy girls making noisy music a duo of https://www.instagram.com/deadleavesl1e https://www.instagram.com/dryleaze !
