[Amalfi]

Amalfi write songs for anyone who ever left home, got lost, and turned the volume up instead of looking back.

Formed in Bristol by five musicians from Greece and Spain, the band grew out of singer/songwriter Moi’s previous project, Electric Effigy, stalling under the weight of real life. When that stoner‑rock outfit folded, he crossed paths with bassist Vasiliki, who was already pulling together a new band. Amalfi is what happened when those plans collided: Mediterranean kids in a West Country city, pouring culture shock, heartbreak, and dread into noisy, melodic guitar music.

Since releasing their first track “Anti-Light” in July 2025, Amalfi have been carving out a corner of the West of England emo and grungegaze scene. Early shows led quickly to a first headline at The Croft, then to topping the bill at Bristol staple The Louisiana in 2026, building a reputation for sets that swing from chaotic to cathartic in a single chorus.

Their debut EP, Down My Throat (2026), leans into that tension. Recorded and mixed by Jim Barr (Portishead) and mastered by James Trevascus (Nick Cave, Idles, Portishead), it captures what the band call “chaotic screamo‑pop” – post‑grunge and post‑screamo guitars slammed up against choruses that stick in your head on the walk home. The sludge of Moi’s past projects has lifted, but the anxiety and humour are still front and centre, squinting at adulthood and trying to yell it into something survivable.

[Outpost39]

Based in South Wales, Outpost 39 have been noisily blending ballsy baritone riffs and excessively shreddy bluesy guitar solos since frontman Steve Quantick founded the band in 2024.

After experimenting with their line up they’ve settled on a two piece in the vein of Haggard Cat, Royal Blood and Jamie Lenman, which makes them very easy to slot into a line up and gives Steve a lot of stage space to run around and burn off his rather hyperactive levels of energy, while drummer Josh Pedwell keeps time to the absolute peak of his ability.
