A gig held at The Old England Pub on Sunday 22nd November. The event starts at 19:30.
# STRANGE SOUNDS
An evening of strange songs, immersive soundscapes and improvisation.
Three very different acts coming together for a Sunday evening at The Old England. There will be songs, drones, unusual sounds and plenty of improvisation. Some of it will be quiet and hypnotic, some of it might get quite strange.
Aunt Celeste
Aunt Celeste make eerie, sometimes creepy free improvisation. Using instruments, voices and effects, they build pieces as they go, moving between delicate sounds, drones and moments of unexpected chaos. Nothing is really planned, and that's part of the fun.
AWE
AWE is a fully improvised performance with electric piano, guitars, singing bowls, drones and vocals, created by Waseem Albahri and Pablo Jimenez-Moreno.
The music starts slowly, with simple sounds that gradually build and overlap. The musicians follow each other, sometimes staying with one sound for a long time, sometimes moving into much louder and more intense sections. It's hypnotic and immersive, with space to get lost in the music.

Fern Enley
Fern Enley writes and performs songs that move between folk, jazz, punk and more experimental approaches to music. Their work is personal, sometimes funny, sometimes difficult, with unusual rhythms, expressive vocals and lyrics that don't always follow the expected path.
