The People's Comedy (Nominated for best UK themed night in 2020)

The People's Comedy returns to the Red Lion for a night of laughter, ethical comedy where acts are paid and reasonable chaos.

The night will take place on the anniversary of the Munich agreement, agreed to by the old colonial powers (Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy) ceding what they euphemistically coined the "Sudeten German territory" of Czechoslovakia to Germany so as to appease Hitler and avoid war in late 1938. Months later, in March 1939 Hitler reneged on his promise and used his newly acquired mountainous and strategy land to invade and conquer Czechoslovakia.
The Munich Agreement, therefore, is widely regarded as a failure in appeasement, and the term has become
synonymous with the idea of appeasing any expansionist totalitarian state as being futile.

May the notion of peoples' lives being dangled about as the playthings of empires be rightly mocked and laughed at using all the colours of the humorist rainbow.
