Headline act DUBBLEHEAD are an incredible psychedelic electronic dub trance project based in Devon, fronted by ex-Ozric Tentacles Synthi A player Tom Brooks. With a die-hard (and ever-growing) following built on the back of their astonishing live performances at Glastonbury and other festivals, these guys are honestly one of the best live bands you will ever see (just wait till you see the drummer!), and will having you bouncing around like Tigger on speed. Supporting them are up-and-coming Bristol band PRESSPLAY, a three piece that can't be categorised easily within one genre, with a distinctive style that's sonically unique. Making a name for themselves at Glastonbury and Ashton Court festivals, they describe themselves as"70's cop-show psychedelic rockers that duel with cine-thematic drama, heralding the voice of forgotten film and the confessions of a brooding dark angel. As always, tickling the musical gooch between bands will be regular CIGAW? fluffers VICARIOUS, DJ MILSTER and WILY LAD, playing the usual booty-shaking mix of funk, soul, breaks, jazz, broken beat, world, disco, electro, salsa and whatever else they think they can get away with. Plus a very rare appearance from the lesser-spotted GURNING CHIMP, spinning a goose-bumpy mix of dub and eclectic dancey weirdness.
This will be the last CIGAW? until October, so we're going tits-out mad for this one, with giveaways on the door ranging from the musical to the bizarre (wait and see), and a definite'school's out' vibe.
