Cars From the Future: The brain child – and collaboration project – from Andrew Spackman of Dark Jazz Project fame and saxophonist Richard Davies and it could be a match made in heaven… or a factory in this case. Following their inaugural release in September, 2 (LP) accelerates into the red, with its more intense jazz infused grooves, electronic wonkiness and searing saxophone melodies. This 9 track album once again made remotely between the 2 divers, working at high speed to make something that regular takes sharp handbrake turns and chaotic doughnuts. Hover the chassis is strong in this one, never letting the record leave the road, and tunes often have catchy hooks and powerful breaks.

Cirenne: Playing new music at an intersection of klezmer, chamber jazz and free improvisation, Cirenne is a singular combination of trumpet/effects (Celeste Cantor-Stephens) and violin/viola (Caelia Lunniss). Weaving scenes and soundscapes that are at once dense, rich and mellifluous, spacious, dancing, and angular, the duo reflect upon real-world conditions and explore imagined utopias.
