Bristol Jazz & Blues Festival present Jimi Hendrix: Slight Return Play Axis: Bold as Love + Support.
Dazzling, dynamic and electrifying, Jimi Hendrix’s debut album Are You Experienced instantly established him as the new God of electric guitar. But it was his second album, Axis: Bold As Love that confirmed him as an artist of breathtaking musical ambition and originality. Recorded and released in late 1967, Axis: Bold As Love saw Jimi carry his guitar playing to new heights of eloquence.
In honour of this landmark album's 50th anniversary, Jimi Hendrix: Slight Return take on the joyous challenge of performing Jimi's masterwork in full. With support from the Will Edmunds trio who'll play a set dedicated to Jimi's early blues influences.
