Formed in 1991 by Tanya Donelly (formerly of Throwing Muses and the Breeders) with brothers Thomas and Christopher Gorman (formerly of Verbal Assault), Belly became known for a blend of spirited guitar rock, countrified pop and Donelly’s haunting lyrics and voice. King introduced Belly’s more collaborative songwriting model, with several tracks co-written by Donelly, Greenwood, and Tom Gorman. King was recorded live at Nassau Studios in the Bahamas with producer Glyn Johns, and was engineered by Jack Joseph Puig.
