A
event
held at The Trinity Centre
on Saturday 20th November. The event starts at 14:00.
Guayabo (Venezuelan slang for “heartbreak”) is a grief party connecting people in the UK with Ania Varez's family in Venezuela, who are immersed in the severe humanitarian crisis of the country, through the long-distance exchange of rituals of celebration and grief.
Using poetry, film, Whatsapp messages and collective actions, Guayabo becomes a meeting point to recognise together the reality of migration and its hardship, the perseverance and richness of our common losses and the opportunities found in facing grief collectively.
Please Note: Audience members will be invited to use their smartphone and WhatsApp during this show. Please bring your phone with enough charge. If you don’t have a smartphone or WhatsApp, contact us in advance on [email protected] and we will assist you.
There will be no access for audience members who arrive after the start time of the performance.
This is the last performance of Guayabo and marks the end of the project initially developed as part of Trinity's IGNiTE Residencies.
