Afrika Eye - The Woman King at The Trinity Centre
See event details

A event held at The Trinity Centre on Saturday 9th November. The event starts at 18:30.

Join Afrika Eye for the first in our series of films, celebrating Black female action heroes, part of BFI’s ‘Art in Action’ season. Tonight’s offer is the sensational, award-winning ‘Woman King’ starring Viola Davis in an historical action-adventure film about the Agolie, the powerful all-female warrior unit that protected the West African Kingdom of Dahomey during the 17th to 19th centuries.

West African street bites will be included in the price and the talented bar team will also craft up a bespoke Dahomey cocktail. Stick around for an informal post screening discussion with a selection of black female and non binary guests.

Doors: 6:00pm

Screening Start: 6:30pm

Film length: 2 hours 15 minutes
