held at The Trinity Centre
on Thursday 4th July. The event starts at 19:00.
Tonight sees another of Murmuration Choir's bespoke collaborations with an artist they hold in great esteem - musician, producer and celebrator of environmental sound, Cosmo Sheldrake.
COSMO SHELDRAKE
Cosmo returns to Bristol after a sell-out show in November, to indulge in a long-held love of working with voices. With an additional background in enthomusicology, folk song and acapella harmony - running his own Brighton-based choir up until 2013, and training with legendary vocal improviser, Bobby McFerrin - he will draw upon Murmuration Choir to flesh pieces from his acclaimed 2018 album 'The Much Much How How and I', and 2015 EP 'Pelicans We', and direct McFerrin-style, Circle-Song improvisations. We shall also enjoy some straight-up classic Sheldrake pieces from the man himself, doing what he does best with samples of suns, whales and birds, improvised and looped with live production, into arrangements that stir the heart, mind and feet.
