COVID-19
*********
In order to ensure that our in-person shows are as safe as possible, there are some changes from pre-Covid shows:
• There will be a limited audience
• Tickets are sold in pairs, so grab someone else in your bubble and bring them along! Or buy a pair of tickets and join by yourself. (This is to ensure safety as well as being able to maximise the number of people who are able to attend. We realise that this is not ideal for everyone and apologise to those this does not suit)
• There will be staggered seating in the theatre to ensure physical distancing
• Everyone will enter and exit via the first exit, NOT through The Old Market Assembly.
• Masks must be worn by audience members as much as possible
• Hand sanitiser will be provided
• There will be enhanced cleaning in the theatre before and after the show.

STORY RULES
*********
Full stories must follow a few simple rules. The rules are not meant to be restrictive, but are there to ensure we get to hear as many awesome stories as possible. If you’re unsure about anything just drop us a message
• They have to be true
• They must be told in 5 minutes.
• They must be *stories*. No rants, stand-up routines or monologues. A story has a beginning, middle and end with some change and/or conflict having occurred.
• They need to be first person. You should be a major character in the story.
• Told without notes or props.

CONTENT WARNINGS
*********
In the interest of making the story slam a safer and more comfortable place, storytellers are given the option of putting content warnings before their stories to allow audience members to excuse themselves if they do not want to hear a story containing those themes. Details of how to do this will be made clear on the day.

SAFER SPACES
*********
We work hard at Story Slam to try and create a place where people feel safe and comfortable to share stories. We're continually trying to make our events better places to be and our aim is to hear stories that we don’t get to hear anywhere else. We want to make Story Slam better than the world around it. So to help us achieve this, we have our own safer spaces policy. http://www.storyslam.co.uk/safer-spaces/
*********
ACCESSIBILITY
*********
We want our events to be as accessible as possible. The venue has full step free access to the theatre and the stage. However, if you need to use it please let us know (via Facebook message) beforehand as we may need a member of staff to open side doors etc. If there’s anything else we can do to make the event more accessible to you, let us know and we’ll try our best!

AGE LIMIT
*********
Story Slam has no age limit, however people below the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and it should be noted that the spontaneous live nature of the show means that profanity and adult themes are to be expected. Parental discretion is advised.
