Revolt

Revolt at The Wardrobe Theatre

An event held at The Wardrobe Theatre on Wednesday 4th November. The event starts at 19:30.

ROMANTICS MYSTICS & REVOLUTIONARIES

(Pete the Temp)

This is a true story of Bristolian riot, anti-slavery, mysticism and psychedelics; told through the lives of two poet renegades: Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth.

The Romantic movement was an act of defiance against industry and the mechanisation of the soul. What do their dreams of renewal offer our age of despair?

Part storytelling stage-show, part performance lecture, Pete unfolds a journey of** music, comedy and lyricism in a thrilling collision of scholarship and live entertainment.

Expect reverence, resistance and enchantment from a time of slavery and war.

FROM DOUG TIL DAWN

(Doug Francisco)

Doug went to Stonehenge free festival when he was 15 and has literally only just got back now.

This is a rollercoaster of  ramblings and reminiscences into the seedy underbelly of cabaret (and back again) from Bristol's legendary Red Rebel Ringmaster,  clown,  and circus impressario.

Witness the psycho-dramas, internal dialogues and multiphrenic mutterings of a life lived backstage, by a soul striving to shine divine under the shadow of the great machine, who has decided it’s about time he had a serious word with himselves!
