Brix & The Extricated Brix & the Extricated were founded in 2014 after former members of post-punk band the Fall reunited to play a one-off gig at Manchester's Ruby Lounge to celebrate Steve Hanley's autobiography, The Big Midweek: Life Inside the Fall. Vocalist and guitarist Brix Smith Start joined fellow Fall alumni Steve Trafford (guitar) and Steve (bass) and Paul Hanley (drums), with the addition of Irish guitarist Jason Brown, to perform songs they had written for their old band. Despite a shared history in one of the most famously turbulent bands, and a certain amount of trepidation from the bandmembers when it came to performing Fall songs, the five-piece toured in 2014 and 2015 and began to work on original material. In 2017 Brix & the Extricated released their debut album, Part 2.
