A
event
held at Club395
on Monday 15th December. The event starts at 19:15.
An evening of exploration of:
- Solo play with one rope
- Safety techniques for self tying
- Building harnesses on yourself
- Introduction to self suspension (optional)
Prerequisites: You must be comfortable at least tying a single column tie, otherwise you may struggle to follow this class.
We’re excited to bring London based rope switch LatexDancer to Bristol for an evening dedicated to self tying. This event is suitable for both beginner and intermediate level and will feature different exercises exploring all things self tying!
What to expect
The evening will begin with a brief discussion about safety considerations for self tying as well as discussing the contents of the class, which can be adjusted depending on preferences of the participants.
The practical part of class will cover one rope play, different harnesses and how to use them as well as a brief demonstration of self suspension.
If you are already practiced at suspension, you can follow along the self suspension portion of the class, otherwise we recommend you just observe this portion.
Towards the end of the evening there will be prompts for solo aftercare.
The formal class is expected to run for around 3 hours, however we have the venue booked until 11pm so people are welcome to keep tying and practicing until then.
About LatexDancer
LatexDancer (she/her) is a London based Shibari practitioner with a background in dance and movement practice. She started self tying more from a practice base perspective, but soon discovered the joy and pleasure of a solo rope practice.
Over the last years she has been working closely with a physiotherapist to explore the impact of rope bondage on the human body and we can utilise techniques from movement practices to create an enjoyable experience. Alex enjoys sharing her techniques and approach to self tying in an attempt to make the world of shibari accessible to all.
BYO snacks, water, and rope if you have it (we’ll have some spares too).
