See event details

A event held at Club395 on Thursday 19th February. The event starts at 19:30.

An intimate performance of Wallace Shawn's capitalist takedown, The Fever. Seasoned performer Taru Sinclair brings a blistering reading of a piece that challenges and engages. Raising funds for Medical Aid for Palestine. Set in the midst of the eponymous fever and originally shown in living rooms by appointment only, we find our narrator in a country far from their own, confronted with the political persecution and human exploitation they are usually shielded from. As an audience we are drawn into considering the narrator's dilemma; how do we find a morally consistent way to live when faced with injustice? "Artists who create works of art that inspire sympathy and good values do not change the life of the poor" To call this piece thought-provoking is an understatement but Sinclair still manages to bring lightness and wit to a blistering work. Doors at 7.00pm, show starts 7.30pm. Alongside this performance, local Bristol artists have donated work, including prints, badges and a zine in support of this fundraiser. Please arrive in plenty of time - there will be an opportunity to browse and buy the donated artworks for a suggested donation from 7.00pm. Every penny of your ticket price will go directly to Medical Aid for Palestinians Tickets: https://www.fundeey.com/event/695fa768de48106ace2296eb Please note: This venue is largely accessible, however, please be aware that there are no toilets accessible for people who use a wheelchair.
