A
clubnight
held at To The Moon
on Valentines Day. The event starts at 20:00.
The next in a series of curated line-ups of DJs I love, and you should hear.
SEBULUS: - (perfectly ordered chaos) -
Seb's BYOT sets have been some of my personal favourites. They can be packed with variety still have the kind of strong cohesion some DJs struggle to pull off even in single genre sets. He seems to achieve this as much through technique as with solid selection, always pushing the boundaries of his equipment without wasting energy, as some ‘technical’ DJs tend to, on superfluous FX play. If you’re into the left field end of the electronica spectrum, and, like me, get excited by broken beats, this is for you.
Sebulus will ease us into the evening after my warm up set from 9-10pm.
M NIAL: - (electronic bliss) -
Meg played an extremely thoughtful set full of forgotten gems at BYOT25. She took some proper golden-era electronica, focussing in on certain elements; clattering percussion, warm synthesis or etherial tones, to drive her selective choices. It was a pleasure to listen to and I can’t wait to hear what she has in store for us with an extra 20 minutes to play with.
BRL: - (tunes you've definitely never heard of) -
Bethan Leppz has been a regular face at recent BYOT events. Her all-vinyl 140 sets, mostly made up of white labels, are truly excellent; super clean, well structured and incredible fun to watch. She’s carved out a very unique sound at a very early stage in her career, and her skills totally belie her experience level. I am convinced that BRL is on the verge of big things, so come see her whilst the tickets are still free!
MAX'S SENTIENT JUKEBOX: - (you can dance, but you don't have to) -
I'll be on warm up duty from 8-9pm, with a set designed to ease you into your evening. Check out the menu at GRANO Kitchen and I'll play you some stuff you can really sink your teeth into.
