A
clubnight
held at To The Moon
on Friday 16th January. The event starts at 19:00.
Counting Blessings is back with our first party of 2026, bringing warmth, joy, movement & connection to the To The Moon dancefloor, with very special guest DJ Robbie Duncan!
Free Entry All Night.
Opening the night 7pm-8pm with a Foundations of House Dance workshop we have Pat & Ania: the workshop is open to all levels and all comers. Class is £6 however for this first session of the year, we'd love as many people as possible to come and try out House Dance, and we don't want money to be a barrier, so we're running a fully Pay What You Can ticket policy :)) Trainers and Comfy clothing recommended.
If you're new to House Dance check out some of the links below to find out more: like Hip Hop and breaking, it emerged from the street and clubs in 70s and 80s US, and is now a style danced all over the world. Originating in the club, the basic steps can easily be picked up and incorporated into your regular night out moves, or you can go deep into house and the world of battles, international training camps and the rest!
8pm-12 we have 4 hours of Broken Beat, Samba, Jazz, House, Afro-Cuban, Funk, Soul, Boogie & more good things, all selected to get our cold winter bodies moving and warmed!!
Our special guest this month is Robbie Duncan, a quiet icon and South West legend whose DJ work has taken him from outdoor parties in the early days of house to some of the UK's most loved venues (Camden's Roundhouse, Ronnie Scotts)
His DJ sets celebrate the deep, soulful, and electronic roots of Black music, moving between warmth and depth — bridging the dancefloor and the heart — with a fluid blend of soulful house, garage, and jazz-infused grooves.
Robbie knows exactly how to look after a dancefloor, really don't miss this chance to catch a rare appearance here in Bristol.
Ribbie will be joined by Katie Novo, proud parent of Counting Blessings & resident of 1BTN and Noods Radio, here for the love of the music and the dancing and the people coming together.
More about your dance teachers:
Pat (they/them)
Pat has been dancing since their teens, exploring everything from afrobeats and waacking to contemporary and commercial styles—but house remains their biggest obsession. Rooted in the energy of London’s dance scene, they’re a regular face in cyphers, workshops, and events, always chasing connection through music and movement.
Ania
Ania’s dance journey began as a teenager, performing Irish dance and musicals as part of a dance troupe. After moving to Bristol, she explored styles from hip hop and commercial to afrobeats and heels. A lifelong lover of house music, discovering house dance felt like home, and she has since trained across the UK, the Netherlands, and France, bringing her passion for rhythm, freedom, and connection into every class.
