Sleep Furiously at Watershed
£6.00 - £11.50

A event held at Watershed on Sunday 15th June. The event starts at 14:00.

Filmmaker Gideon Koppel crafts a charming documentary love-letter to Trefeurig, the Welsh farming community where he grew up, and where his parents found refuge from Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

The film offers a meditative study of the somewhat eccentric community, observing the unalterable rhythms of country life and the monthly visits of a mobile library, while documenting the threat posed by the closure of the local school, in a place where many services have already vanished.

Koppel’s affectionate approach to capturing the unassuming traditions of rural village life results in a thoughtful, funny and moving film, complemented by the suitably whimsical sounds of Aphex Twin on the soundtrack.
