QueerTech Bristol: Web Accessibility Talk at Watershed
See event details

A event held at Watershed on Tuesday 16th January. The event starts at 18:30.

"Accessibility: it's not just alt tags" - Award winning front end developer, mentor and codebar organiser Fran Solo will give us a talk on how to make web applications more accessible to people with disabilities. This session is going to be more on the techie side with coding examples shown. If you're not a coder though, don't let that put you off! At QTB we warmly welcome anyone who works with computers or is interested in doing so, and it benefits everyone to become more disability/accessibility conscious. Why not join us and learn something new?

What's more, preceding Fran's talk we'll hold a short meditation session to help relax into the New Year. This will be a samatha (mindfulness of breath) practice with Evie, one of our organisers. No previous meditation experience necessary: beginners especially will feel warmly welcome at this friendly session, which will first go through the technique of mindfulness step by step.

Happy New Year queers! Hope to see you there xoxo
