The Compost Cafe: Quiz & Open Mic at Windmill Hill City Farm

A event on Friday 4th September. The event starts at 18:00.

FREE ENTRY

Hello, hello!

After a (partly) unintentional summer break, the Compost Cafe Quiz & Open Mic is back on Friday 4th of September.

Come along to Windmill Hill City Farm Cafe for an evening of quizzing and open mic'ing. Whether you're a seasoned performer or a first-timer looking to try out new material, all styles are welcome. We've had accordion players, poets, singers, storytellers...and even someone sharing their top life hacks!

QUIZ THEME: Long hot summers...

Interested in performing? Sign up on the night or email [email protected].

Max 2 songs if you're singing, or 8 mins for anything else! We always have 8 performance slots up for grabs, with extra slots available depending on time. We have a PA system and house guitar. The space is small enough to go unplugged if you wish!

If you don't fancy staying for the whole time, you're welcome for the bit you'll enjoy and miss the rest. There are small bites, snacks and hot and cold drinks available from the bar until 8:30pm.

Timings:

- Doors: 5:30pm
- Quiz: 6:15 - 7pm
- Open mic: 7:15 - 8:45pm
- Close: 9pm

RAQs (Rarely Asked Questions):

1. Why are you called The Compost Cafe?

Good question. I'm glad you asked. Compost is a rich mix of decaying material which encourages new growth. For this evening, the compost is the space and you - whether you're a performer or audience member or quickly departing quizzer - will hopefully be the new growth.

2. Can I bring my pet panda?

No.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
