The Cosmic Shed presents: TRON-FEST
"Do you believe in the Users?"
The Cosmic Shed, voted one of The Guardian's favourite podcasts of 2018, is back with a new live event looking at the science behind classic science-fiction films.
This year, they'll be looking at the 1982 innovative film Tron and its 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy. The event will feature a double bill screening of both films as well as a discussion with Dr Pete Etchells, who has been researching the short- and long-term behavioural effects of playing video games. The Cosmic Shed panel will also be looking at the films' groundbreaking legacy in visual FX, from the original movie's use of the innovative CGI to the sequel utilising de-aging technology, something that has been utilised to great effect in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The wonderful people at Icon Book are giving one copy of Pete's book "Lost in a Good Game" for the first 30* lots of tickets sold for Tron-Fest
One book per transaction. Book to be collected at Tron Fest from Pete himself!
Profits from the night will be going to the charity Special Effect, that aims to put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.
