A top class line up of stand ups in a fantastic central Bristol venue topped off by headliner on the verge of becoming a massive name on the comedy scene. All for Free!
We get a great mix of comedians with both the established and those just starting. Regardless, they're all A* when it comes to funny.
Zed Alley is the newest underground events space located in the vibrant heart of Bristol's city centre and their friendly staff are waiting to ply you with drinks to go with our laughs.
We're here in a lane right next to Bristol Beacon every 1st/3rd Tuesday of the month. Doors open from 7.30. Show at 8.00. Do join us. You can't beat a bit of live comedy.
Your headliner for this show is Brendan Common. Aloof, sharp and the right amount of dark, Brendan brings seriously honed material to a joke intense set delivered with a dry disarming persona.
After just 15 gigs Brendan Common qualified for the Semi Finals or so you think you're funny?! doing this 20th gig at the Edinburgh's gilded balloon.
Within 2 years of performing he became Finalist of Cardiff Glee's Welsh unsigned stand up award.
"Intelligent smart comedy noir. One to keep an eye on. This guy has the potential for the big time, best original comedy I've seen "
-Lee Sigerson
Former Venue manager Cardiff glee club.
After returning to stand up in 2017 after a travel sabbatical Brendan has become a regular the scene in the south west and Wales and becoming a Finalist stand up for cider, making the short list for British comedian of the year, appearing on pro gigs with big names, and headlining local nights.
He is also an accomplished MC having paid spots hosting the people's comedy Friday night gig in stokes croft, and is the resident MC of the The Bristol Punchline at the Greenbank.
'Winding through complex eerie channels of suppressed astonishment, this is the sort of comedy education you cannot pay for because it rarely exists'
Scott Fitzgerald, Director Cardiff comedy festival
"Appearances are deceptive. Brendan Common may appear as if he has the darkest of tales to tell but you'll be surprised by the bizarre richness of his alternative worldview. Hilarious dichotomies abounded in a set that underlined his promise as one of the most eminently watchable new comedians in Wales. It can surely only be a matter of time before the geek shall inherit the earth. "
-South Wales echo
"A genuine antidote to mainstream stand-up. Firing viciously sharp gags with a disarmingly likeable persona, Brendan is a fresh, intensely enjoyable act with a dark imagination!"
- Ignacio Lopez, Comedy Sheep
"With an aloof persona and wry wit Brendan Common had the audience in the palm of his hand from start to finish of his joke filled set."
- Dirty Doves Comedy
