A
gig
on Friday 17th January. The event starts at 19:00.
A free event in the beautiful and welcoming Zion Community Centre in Bishopsworth, Bristol. Be warned, there could be dancing!
Come and join in with sea shanties, wassail and folk songs with choruses that are easy to pick up with the words clearly projected.
The most fun you can have with your oilskins on! Come and join in with the singing as you're guided through some classic sea shanties (being in tune is not at all required, just to have a good yarp!), lean when to splice the mainbrace and hear so sea faring tales. If you have a shanty you love to sing come and lead us all (with the support of Matt and Kirstie or on your own, as you wish), we will all join in with the chorus!
Zion Bristol is a fantastic, welcoming community space (run for and by the community in an old Methodist chapel) with parking available for free on the surrounding streets, and a reasonably priced bar and cafe available throughout. Zion Bristol, Bishopsworth Rd, Bristol BS13 7JW. You are very welcome and we look forward to seeing you!
The Horse Box Hobos (www.horseboxhobos.com) shanty night is a firm favourite and it does get busy but you won't be turned away if you have a ticket (it's free) which you can book here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/sea-shanty-folk-wassail-night-at-zion-tickets-1115910471259?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl
