A event held at Arnolfini on Friday 17th April. The event starts at 11:00.
A multi-sensory workshop inspired by Mounira Al Solh’s exhibition – designed for anyone that struggles to connect with contemporary art in the traditional way
Led by postgraduate students from UWE Bristol, the workshop offers a guided, sensory exploration of A land as big as her skin. Using smell, sound and atmosphere** – including herbs, flowers, spices and music – you’ll be invited to experience the exhibition through your senses and notice how it makes you feel. **
After spending time in the gallery, you’ll move to our community workshop space where you can choose how to respond. You might take part in gentle, guided movement exercises, or explore simple drawing as a way to express your thoughts and feelings. There’s no right or wrong way to take part.
You’re encouraged to engage at your own pace and comfort level throughout.
This workshop is designed for all adults, especially those who find contemporary art hard to access or relate to. You’re encouraged to engage at your own pace and comfort level throughout.
This workshop is a collaboration between Arnolfini and UWE Bristol’s Postgraduate School of Art
