on Tuesday 3rd June. The event starts at 18:00.
Join authors Marchelle Farrell and Marianne Brown in conversation about community and belonging amid a backdrop of climate crisis and energy exploitation. Hear about positive climate action happening right here in Bristol and share your own experience of mobilising collective power.
Marchelle Farrell is a writer, medical psychotherapist, and amateur gardener, born in Trinidad and Tobago, but having spent over 20 years attempting to become hardy here in the UK. Her work explores the relationship between our external and internal landscapes, the patterns we reenact in relation to the land, and how they might be changed. Her debut book, Uprooting, won the Nan Shepherd Prize for nature writing, and was shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize for nature writing.
Marianne Brown is a writer and journalist raised in Edinburgh and based in Devon. Her book The Shetland Way: Community and Climate Crisis on My Father’s Islands (Borough Press, 2025) tells how a visit for her father’s funeral led to a journey to the roots of a hugely controversial onshore wind farm.
