A
event
held at Bristol Beacon
on Saturday 14th May. The event starts at 17:00.
Join us to honour and support the people of Ukraine for a special fundraising event created by the Bozarts Band.
We invite you for a remarkable journey of happiness, joy and sorrow showcasing classical music, folk and spoken word from different cultures.
Bozarts Band is a collective of Bristol’s leading musicians and instrumentalists, with actress Patrycja Kujawska (Kneehigh Theatre) and soprano Katy Garden. Special guest Ukrainian pianist Veronika Shoot will be performing music by her father, Vladislav Shoot, former composer-in-residence at Dartington Hall.
The concert is in aid of the people of Ukraine, all proceeds from the event and all further funds raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
The early evening performance concludes with the audience joining to sing anthems of hope – Va, pensiero (Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Verdi’s Nabucco and the Ukrainian national anthem.
Tickets are FREE with a suggested donation. Bookings, donations, accessibility info and all audience singing materials are available on the Bristol Beacon website event link: https://bristolbeacon.org/whats-on/ukraine-benefit-evening/book/144801/
The event is in the unique and spectacular foyer of the Bristol Beacon - with multiple angles and sonic experiences offered by the unusual architecture.
The audience is free to move around the venue during the performance - you can be up close to the performers, you can move around the galleries and bridges of the foyer, and you can take a seat close to the stage.
While children and young people are welcome, please be aware serious and strong emotional themes will be dealt with during the performances.
We are actively monitoring the coronavirus situation, and any potential event disruption will be notified by email to you.
