A
gig
held at Bristol Folk House
on Saturday 22nd February. The event starts at 20:00.
For their tenth anniversary, the band have re-recorded and re-imagined their debut album ‘Sou’wester Sessions’ in its entirety, including live favourites ‘Church On The Beach’ and ‘Conger Reels.’
Recorded in their home studio on the tiny island of St. Agnes, ‘Sou’wester Sessions Revisited’ captures the musicianship and friendship of a band who have spent a decade playing music together. Band members Piers, John, James and Joe are joined on the album by various family members, including Giles Lewin on fiddle.
Having expanded their sound world to include electronica, ambient music and spoken word, Rough Island Band craft a distinctive musical voice which will connect you to the places, people and stories of the Isles of Scilly.
For their 10th anniversary tour, the band will be playing songs and tunes from across their back catalogues, which also includes the albums ‘Where To’ (2010), ‘On All Sides’ (2014) and ‘This Island of Yours’ (2017).
