TALK: Developers and their impact on cultural life at The Brunswick Club

A event held at The Brunswick Club on Saturday 10th November. The event starts at 12:00.

We Will Survive: Developers and their impact on cultural life in Bristol

Join a panel of artists and organisations to consider the impact of Bristol’s current approach to development and the effect this is having on cultural activity.

Development is booming and cultural spaces are closing.

Kate Rich is a trade artist, feral economist and volunteer finance manager at Bristol's artist-run Cube Microplex. Kate will discuss different models for survival.

Oliver Sutherland is an artist, member of Bristol Experimental Expanded Film: BEEF and part of the committee working on the future of the Brunswick Club. Oliver will talk about the current status of the Brunswick Club project and its significant challenges.

Annie McGann and Leighton de Burca are volunteers for Savebristolnightlife. They will discuss their campaign to save, protect and promote Bristol's nightlife and the culture, creativity and communities that go with it.

Paula Orrell, curator and Brunswick Club consultant, will chair the panel and set out the provocation, challenging how the city trades on arts and culture for economic transformation.

Further contributors to be confirmed.
