See event details

A gig held at Cafe Kino on Valentines Day. The event starts at 19:15.

Formed in 1983, Virus have been described as the ‘best kept secret’ in the DIY punk scene and over their 42 year history have released four singles, one split-single and six albums.

Virus draw on inspiration from the bands of 1979/80 - bands such as The Ruts, The Damned, Killing Joke, The Stranglers, The Jam, as well as anarcho punk pioneers Crass, The Mob and Poison Girls. Virus continue to explore new territory and push their music beyond the boundaries normally associated with anarcho-punk with their hard-hitting melodic punk rock sound and lyrical themes about the betrayal of trust in a long-term friendship, fast fashion, the environmental crisis, internet grooming gangs, the president of the USA, Covid lockdown, the toppling of the Colston statue, the meat industry and the wider punk scene.

Virus have played live all over the country but they tend to keep their gigs low-key affairs often playing with long-time friends and associates.

Hermeticus provide heavy drone/guitar to a severe tribal beat.
A whirlwind of effects and samples disengage the listener from conscious reality and into a magickal, ritualistic landscape.
This well known duo have played together in many incarnations dating back to the origins of Anarcho Punk in 1980.
Do Less, The Winged Demons, Le Pendu and Disturbance From Fear preceded Hermeticus though the strong political/magickal/punk essence remains.
Bristol based and currently scaring audiences nationwide.
Not to be missed.

DJ Dub Punk releases huge slabs of Dub, Anarcho Punk and Punk Rock.
Resident DJ for all BOD Promotions summoning the radical/political/cultural essence of these unique events.

DJ Inigo;
Representing the bristol youth , Inigo is here to stay.
With his excellent dub , jungle and techno selections , he'll be sure to get any crowd moving with a wide variety of genres and a mastery of them all.

On the night there will hundreds of Anarcho Punk Images projected onto the screen.
From the Hermeticus personal archives is a unique window into the early part of the 1980’s showing zines, flyers, protest leaflets, artwork, gig promos that demonstrated the Anarchist response to global capitalism, Thatcherism, the Cold War, Fox Hunting, American Nukes and the domestic housing crisis.
These themes resound today and stand as a unifying and historical prism.
