Our first 2024 event will be a fundraiser for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF). All proceeds from this event will be donated: we are covering all running costs, and the artists and team are working for free. We will be putting on a very inclusive and multi-genre event, so please come down and support a good cause.
There isn't adequate space in an event description to accurately depict how difficult the humanitarian situation in Palestine remains. Aside from applying political pressure for an immediate ceasefire, another way of helping out is to raise money for transparent charities that apply the money well.
To this end, we chose Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), for whom we did a past fundraiser during the pandemic. PCRF is a transparent and extremely well-reviewed group (see Charity Navigator) that provides free medical relief for children and supplies hospitals. There is no affiliation with any military group. More information on PCRF follows at the end of the description.
With so much negative news over the past years, it's very easy to become cynical. But there is an enormous base of support for Palestine and everyone is capable of making a positive impact: the sum of individually small contributions can make an enormous difference. For our part, we will make fundraising and charitable donations a primary focus of 2024.
See you on the dancefloor...
----Styles----
We'll be playing a lot of styles of music, starting slow on open doors and ramping to full rave tempo by 2am. Funk, disco, house, techno, breaks.
----More on PCRF----
Receiving 97% rating from Charity Navigator, Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), founded in 1991 by concerned humanitarians in the USA, provides free medical care to thousands of injured and ill children yearly who lack local access to care within the local health care system. Over the years, we've sent over 2,000 affected children abroad for free medical care, sent thousands of international doctors and nurses to provide tens of thousands of children free medical care in local hospitals, and provided tens of thousands of children humanitarian aid and support they otherwise would not get.
PCRF's impact also includes establishing two pediatric cancer departments in Palestine, a new PICU and pediatric cardiology department in Ramallah, and many more critical projects to sustainably bolster the region's healthcare system. Our foundation relies on grassroots efforts, supported by a worldwide network of thousands of volunteers, to fulfill our humanitarian mission. We are a volunteer-based nonprofit, so please join our efforts.
