Blazing Brazilian sounds from the heart of Bristol: astounding singer Marta Zubieta and her formidable five-piece band draw on a rich profusion of vibrant Brazilian musical styles for a concert of joyous and beautifully magical music-making.

With carefree precision, their vivacious, freewheeling performance pays tribute to the golden era classic catalogue of the '50s, '60s, and '70s Brazilian music scene: shapeshifting laid-back, sweetly sad bossa nova into the sunny and percussive summer sound of Afro-Brazilian samba and into scintillating and spicy jazz-inflected Latin dance.

For one sweet evening, you can fully immerse yourself in the rich musical traditions of one of the world's most musical nations and just give yourself up to the vibe.

'Brazilian music is a whole world of its own.'

Cotham Club: a brilliant, eclectic monthly live global music club with a passion for community at its core.

Music, with all its subtlety and spirit, has immense power to unite people. It is the universal language of mankind. The sounds of Africa, America, Eurasia, and Oceania have always found a home in Bristol, and there are few better examples of the city's cultural cross-pollination than Cotham Club, a celebration in sound of what unites rather than divides. Each month we showcase some of the most diverse and brilliant musicians from Bristol and beyond, linking audiences to great music and to each other.
