A rare opportunity to catch acclaimed American guitarist Steven Kirby during his European tour as he makes a special visit to Bristol.
Steven has performed and recorded with some of the leading names in jazz, including Chris Potter, George Garzone, Mike Mainieri (Steps Ahead), Scott Colley, Bruce Barth and Joe Lovano. He is also a member of the Jazz Faculty at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.
Joining Steven for the evening is Walrws guitarist, who has recently worked with artists including Ivo Neame, Brigitte Beraha, John Stowell and Simon Spillett.
### Guitar Workshop
4:00pm – 6:00pm
Steven will lead an interactive workshop exploring a selection of jazz standards and original approaches to improvisation. Together we'll dissect a couple of tunes and examine different ways of navigating harmony, developing melodic ideas and creating more personal improvisations.
Suitable for guitarists and instrumentalists with a basic knowledge of harmony and improvisation.

### Duo Concert

Steven Kirby and James Chadwick present an intimate evening of music, performing some of their favourite tunes from across the jazz repertoire. Expect inventive improvisation, deep musical conversation and plenty of surprises as the duo explores music from years gone by.
