This show is Part. 2 of ‘An Erratic Evening’ - EB’s eclectic mini-fest taking place in BOTH rooms of the Crofters on Weds 5th Oct. First up, take a hefty bite of new wave/post-punk bolgnoaise with Qlowski + Holy Reptile in the Main Room… (ticketed event) then stroll on over to Room 2 for a gorgeous neo-jazz dessert with Glass Museum.
Glass Museum are a Jazz-tronica duo from Belgium. Comprised of Antoine Flipo on synths and Martin Grégoire behind the drum kit, they are a prominent name in contemporary jazz stylings within the European scene.
Since 2016, Glass Museum’s raw, sunny energy has been uniting the surgical precision of the best contemporary jazz, à la Gogo Penguin and Badbadnotgood, with the electronic influences of Jon Hopkins and Floating Points.
The ultimate modern marriage between pure traditional jazz, orchestral arrangements, and the mathematics of electronic music, Glass Museum’s music is founded upon the duality of Flipo and Grégoire as a collaborative force. Flipo brings creates an epic atmosphere within his compositions, whilst also having the skill to translate a more classical tradition in a contemporary way. Conversely, Grégoire jas the ability to adapt his percussion to anything thrown his way. The two share an impressively open dialogue that allows them to go with whatever sonic float their way towards whatever sonic valleys flow their way.
Vetna is a music project founded by Lorenzo Chia, born in Turin two years ago, and now based in Bristol.
Vetna's music could be defined as alternative rock, with relevant influences from the ‘90s and '00s.
English electronic music (ambient, techno & big beat) from that period plays an important role as well in defining the sound coordinates of the whole project.
But let's not forget as well an always present punk attitude, heavily-distorted guitars, psychedelia and, most of all, what you wish to imagine in it.
